A happy home over a long term is the result of a successful partnership. Most successful partnerships require, among many other investments, effort, desire, devotion, trust and commitment. One should never enter into any serious pursuit with any individual who is unable or unwilling to demonstrate all of the above. A piece of paper will not do it. However, like the 1,000 attorneys at the bottom of the sea, it's a good start.
I may be wrong. My experience is limited to only one marriage started in 1980 and only one business started in 1983. Both have gotten better every year. If the trend continues, I will die of terminal happiness.
